Time is officially flying, because it’s been seven *whole* months since Love is Blind season two arrived on Netflix. And that means one thing: it’s time to check in with the cast via follow-up episodes of Love is Blind: After the Altar.
Netflix dropped three After the Altar episodes today (16 September), tracking what this year’s contestants have been up to since the series aired. If you need a recap, Love is Blind S2 saw just two couples getting married: Iyanna and Jarrette, and Danielle and Nick. Sadly, Iyanna and Jarrette have since decided to get a divorce.
However, one cast member was noticeably absent from the reunion, and that’s Shake Chatterjee. So, what’s the reason behind Shake’s absence?

To remind you, Shake initially got engaged to fellow contestant Deepti Vempati after hitting it off in the pods. Soon after meeting IRL Shake then expressed his worries about commitment while also making comments about not being attracted to Deepti. However, it was Deepti who ultimately pulled the plug on their wedding day.
Shake then clashed with the rest of the cast during the Love is Blind Reunion, with host Vanessa Lachey calling him out for his behaviour on the show.
So, fans were intrigued to find out how Shake is getting on with his cast mates now. But it seems the answer is: not great.

Netflix
After the Altar episode one saw Nick and Danielle planning a surprise weekend getaway for co-star Natalie Lee. At one point, Danielle revealed that the only person she hadn’t reached out to was Shake. Nick responded, “If he’s going, I’m not going,” with Danielle then removing him from the list.
As for the reason behind Shake’s absence, the vet told TMZ back in August, “Honestly, they begged me to be on it.” He continued, “They wanted me to speak with Deepti one on one. They wanted to see some kind of reconciliation. But after how they portrayed me, and then especially after how the hosts of the show – who are supposed to be impartial – came after me, I want nothing to do with them.”
So, that’s that then. Here’s hoping Shake and the rest of the cast end up on better terms.
