In a job where you’re surrounded by a generation of digital natives (I’m looking at you, Gen Z), it’s hard not to be constantly reminded that you are, in fact, a certified Millennial. That I’m-so-old feeling reared its ugly head again recently when I realised I was just about the only person who didn’t know about portable desktops.

Last week, an email pinged in my inbox, directing my attention to the launch of HP’s brand-new Envy Move All-in-One PC. My interest was piqued. Not only does working from both a laptop and a portable monitor at the same time let the whole room know you’re a busy professional corp girlie, but working off two screens is actually a blessing when constantly dealing with large image files from a shoot, approving pages for our next issue, or tracking digital analytics whilst also tackling your inbox.

After a few days of playing with the device, I was obsessed. Now, this isn’t your usual 24-inch all-in-one PC. The Envy Move has a built-in battery, letting it be used for hours away from a wall outlet, which means you can do things all around your home. Case in point? I don’t have a TV in my room, so being able to setup the monitor on a table at the end of my bed to Netflix and chill in the evening has been a dream.

There’s also a handle on top (which remains out of sight when it isn’t needed) for easily toting around to meetings when you need to deliver a badass presentation on a big screen because a smol laptop just won’t do. The handle also makes the monitor super easy to carry onto your balcony, or outside somewhere, and setup your own little garden yoga workout. And so, to paraphrase HP themselves, don’t just sit there—move.

Let’s live your best portable life, shall we?
