When it comes to Netflix adaptations, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen one as hotly anticipated as The Sandman.
Adapted from Neil Gaiman’s graphic novel, The Sandman‘s official synopsis reads: “A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama, and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.”
The fantasy horror series dropped on Friday (5th August), with viewers already primed for a season two. Having binged the whole thing over the weekend (how else would you spend a lazy Sunday?), fans have been sharing their reactions, with many saying the same thing about the new series.

Netflix
As expected, viewers have got literally nothing but praise for The Sandman, shouting out the adaptation for being essentially perfect along with spot-on casting choices.
One fan tweeted, “The Sandman is prime moviemaking tbh. Casting, scripting, storytelling, scoring. Everything just comes together perfectly.”
Meanwhile, another added, “The casting in [Neil Gaiman’s] The Sandman is absolutely spot on – everyone understood the assignment and brought their A-game!”

Netflix
A third agreed, tweeting, “The Sandman is blowing me away I am so thrilled. Watching it as slowly as I can so I have more to watch later. Every bit of me is awake while watching. It is beautiful and perfect. Thank you @neilhimself [Neil Gaiman] and everyone else involved!”
“Whoever did the casting for The Sandman deserves a raise – perfect 10/10 for each character,” added another, while a fifth wrote, “It’s hard to imagine the casting of [The Sandman] being any more perfect.”
