Twitter is no longer Twitter. Business magnate Elon Musk is rebranding the iconic platform from the ground up, broadening its scope to unexpected horizons. As we’re aware, the Tesla Motors CEO acquired Twitter in 2022 for a whopping $44 billion – and it’s clear that his dollars are at work.

So how exactly is Elon Musk rebranding Twitter?
First up on Musk’s rebranding master plan, we’re officially bidding farewell to the iconic blue bird logo, an emblem that has encapsulated the website’s identity in so many different ways. From now on, the platform’s official logo will be replaced with a white X against a black background.
The rebranded design is very on brand for Mr. Musk who evidently enjoys simplicity and sleekness in his creations. Referring to the design as “minimalist art deco,” the Tesla Motors mastermind changed his icon to a photo of the company’s new logo, officially marking the start of a new era with X.
But that’s not all, Elon Musk also updated his bio to “X.com” and announced that tweets will be renamed to X. The devil is in the details, and it’s pretty clear that the entire platform is being revamped holistically.
It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.

To be fair, the mogul has been transparent from the get-go, sharing that his acquisition of Twitter serves to accelerate his creation of “the everything app.” In Twitter’s CEO Linda Yaccarino’s words, X will be “centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking — creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.”
Introducing mobile payments and commerce to the platform, the SpaceX founder seems to be shooting for the stars, à la Apple. He even incorporated his favourite cryptocurrency Dogecoin into the mix. “Powered by AI, X will connect us in ways we’re just beginning to imagine,” Yaccarino tweeted.
“Dogecoin is my favorite cryptocurrency because it has the best humor and has dogs”

We’re observing a bit of a pattern here since there have been quite a few initiatives aiming to dethrone Twitter, from Threads to now X. But Meta’s text-based platform Threads hasn’t succeeded in doing so, plummeting in popularity among users since its launch according to Sensor Tower.
And it seems like there’s no stopping Elon Musk’s X, at least for now.
