Last night, the Burj Khalifa lit up with news concerning coronavirus. The message displayed across the skyscraper read "Stay Home," following a trending hashtag that's been blowing up in the UAE recently. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous people have been encouraged to self-isolate and stay home to 'flatten the curve' and reduce coronavirus cases

This campaign has been initiated by several other countries in similar efforts to decrease new cases of the highly infectious virus. Both Abu Dhabi and Dubai have closed down beaches, parks, malls and many restaurants to also stop too many citizens crowding together, and possibly infecting one another. Health officials are urging residents to be responsible and self quarantine

Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum spoke out about the current pandemic and said "going forth, maintaining this status needs us ALL to urgently recognise the seriousness of the new reality we live in. We (Dubai) are not immune."
