The Abu Dhabi Dream Ball, an event founded by Harper’s Bazaar Arabia and Sawtouna in partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Etihad Airways will take place on January 23rd 2020.
This year’s star-studded event is aimed to support and promote the lives of 74,000 women and children syrian refugees in Lebanon. The event will be hosted by Rosemin Madhavji alonside Nadine Maalouf; founder of Sawtouna and Nadia Sehweil as co-chairs.
Founder of Sawtouna, Nadine Maalouf says, “It is Sawtouna’s mandate to maximise the potential of women and children through the support of key charities and foundations both in the region and internationally, and that’s why Abu Dhabi Dream Ball was created”
Taking place at Emirates Palace, the event will feature a gala dinner, live auction of valuable pieces of art donated by galleries Leila Heller and Third Line. Funds raised from the gala will be to support UNHCR‘s initiative in Lebanon to increase access to primary healthcare for refugees; this includes preventive and curative consultations, vaccines, essential medication for acute disorders & chronic illnesses, and mental health services.
The night isn’t restricted to fund-raising alone, there will be live perfoormances from Argentinian pianist Raúl Di Blasio, Arab’s Got Talent winners Mayyas Dance Group and more.
