Cycling can be a fun way to get active and exercise without going to the gym. As well as the physical benefits of cycling, such as strengthening your heart and lungs and reducing joint pain, it can also improve your mental health by reducing your stress levels.
The AlUla Tour is part of a commitment to inspire more people to take up cycling. During the 2025 AlUla Tour, many school children were inspired. How, you ask? At every stage they were given information about cycling by clinic coaches and were able to take part in kids’ races. They rode 1km alongside the Tour to give them an insight into the real experience.
Both the clinics and the kids races are led by Saudi Arabia’s first elite female cyclist, Moroj Adil. Just two years ago, the 26-year-old from Makkah didn’t even know how to ride a bike. Now she’s competing with the pros, representing the Saudi national team and inspiring the next generation of cyclists.
“The most important thing I have learnt from my journey is to create opportunities for the new generation. To open doors for them, to give everyone the chance to explore their interests, to find their limits and to challenge themselves. That’s what I hope to do for young athletes from Saudi Arabia. – Moroj Adil
And with Kids Training sessions and Kids Races at the AlUla Tour2025, she really inspired young school children and got them interested in cycling.
“We have a one-hour training session and then a kids’ race, which is amazing. This year we are seeing more and more kids who are really interested in cycling, far more than we expected, which is a really good sign,” said Moroj.
She continued “They are so happy and excited. When I asked them to ride 1km, they wanted to ride more and go further! It’s great to see. They were also really interested in watching the race and cheering for all the riders, so it’s been a fantastic experience.
Very impressive. We applaud Moroj Adil for her achievements and know that she will continue to inspire many.
