If everyone you know and their mum is booking a flight to Tokyo and the FOMO is starting to feel very real, let us graciously introduce you to Kiyoshi. The Japanese hotspot at Dubai Creek Harbour is leaning into the season with a limited-edition festive menu, available from 15 December all the way through to 15 January.
This time around, your festive spread is going to be less about chicken roasts and potatoes, and more about a feast-worthy menu that remixes classic Japanese flavours with the indulgent je ne sais quoi the festive season demands. Show-stopping menu hits include crispy rice topped with spicy tuna and, of course, caviar, alongside a rich truffle Donburi. Even the most golden roast pales in comparison to the Black Angus Tomahawk with Wasabi Mash — Kiyoshi knows a thing or two about spicing things up.
If you think that’s a main course that’s hard to top, the dessert definitely won’t disappoint. The ginger, date and walnut cake is all the things you want from a winter dessert — warm, seasonal, and comforting, like a hug when you’re wearing a slightly scratchy jumper. If you happened to find yourself in the company of a “matcha taste like grass” person, do them and the table a favour and order the matcha cheesecake. You’re bound to go in for seconds
Kiyoshi also takes its cocktails seriously. The Wabi Sabi, a standout, blends spicy wasabi paste with mellow notes of elderflower and sake, punctuated by a citrusy hit of yuzu, creating a drink that makes all other cocktails feel like plain old juice.
Amid all the good food and drinks, Kiyoshi didn’t miss the memo on ambience either. Right now, the space is dressed for the season, with a minimal festive set-up that’s not kitschy, just the right amount of festive to feel on theme. And of course, the prime Dubai Creek location means that if you manage to peel your eyes away from the feast in front of you, you’ll find yourself surrounded by the Dubai skyline (snow-covered mountains, who?).
So if your December aesthetic is less “ugly sweater competition” and more “late lunch that blurs into early dinner,” Kiyoshi is where festive season gets its cool factor back.
