Kay, we hear you. It’s summer and you wanna be munching off to something cool while sipping those mocktails in pool floats. Or you just wanna be a little creative and take up some easy bakes. No worries, because we just rounded up some totes amazing summer snacks for you and spoiler alert, they’re super easy to make!
1) Frozen fruit kebab
Grapes are best when frozen (try to change my mind I dare you). These are so cute but so refreshing. It’s the perfect poolside snack!
What you’ll need:
- 6-8 strawberries
- some red grapes
- some green grapes
- some blueberries
- 1 banana
- 50g natural yogurt
The process:
- Prepare the fruit by washing them and making sure they’re clean, cut banana into small pieces
- Thread the cut fruit onto skewers
- Place the kebabs onto a baking tray lined with baking paper/tinfoil
- Spoon some yogurt into a small plastic freezer bag, snip one end, and drizzle the yogurt like icing over the fruit
- Pop the kebabs into the freezer for 1/2 hours and then eat!
2) Chocolate hummus
A sweet version of hummus. You’re basically eating chocolate but it’s the healthy version which means that you don’t need to worry about how much you’re eating!
What you’ll need:
- 1 can of drained chickpeas
- 1/2 chocolate nut butter/ chocolate peanut butter/Nutella
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
The process:
- Pop the ingredients into a mixer or food processor and mix until it’s smooth and creamy
- Add 1tbsp of water until you get the desired consistency
- Pour into a bowl and leave it in the fridge until ready to eat
3) Apple nachos
Cut apple slices, put them on a plate and drizzle anything you want on them! Peanut butter, chocolate (like Nutella or chocolate sauce), perhaps M&Ms or marshmallows. Basically anything!
What you’ll need:
- 4 apples, cored and cut into slices
- 1 c. melted white choc chips
- 3/4 c. warmed caramel
- 1 c. chopped pretzels
The process:
- Arrange apple slices on top of each other
- Drizzle with choco chips and caramel
- Drizzle pretzels
- Add any remaining caramel for final touches!
