It’s officially here (!!) After three years of waiting ever so patiently and never complaining (a blatant lie…) Netflix MENA has officially dropped the teaser for AlRawabi School For Girls Season 2 – one of Netflix’s most successful Arabic series, produced by Filmizion Productions, from Showrunner and Creator Tima Shomali, with Co-Creators Shirin Kamal and Islam Alshomali – and you wont *believe* what has changed since season 1.
AlRawabi School for Girls Season 2: *All* the deets
A new season inevitably means that a new school year has commenced, and a new school year means new students, which means ~brand new~ cast members (!!). Indeed, the entire star-studded cast has been revamped, in such a way that not a single OG cast member – whether it be Mariam played by Andria Tayeh, Layan played by Noor Taher, or Dina portrayed by Yara Mustafa – has been recast in Season 2.
AlRawabi School for Girls Season 2 cast: Who is going to star in the Netflix show?
“Meet your new cast mates,” instructs the trailer, which successively introduces us to Sarah (played by Tara Abboud), Nadeen (played by Tara Atalla), Tasneem (played by Sarah Youseff), Hiba (played by Kira Yaghnam), Shams (played by Thalia Alansari), and Farah (played by Raneem Haitham).

Some fans were shocked to learn that the original cast members would not be returning to AlRawabi School For Girls Season 2, expressing their disappointment in the comments section of the teaser. “It’s so disappointing that the old characters are not in season 2 – we’ve been waiting for so long to see what happened to Layan, and now they changed everything. It’s so disappointing 😒,” penned one fan.
Others, however, expressed their excitement about the new season’s arrival, writing, “Omg finally! I’ve been waiting forever.”

Whilst we’re not entirely certain whether or not the original cast members will be making an appearance in AlRawabi School for Girls Season 2, what is undeniable is the fact that the entire show is being marketed around the selling point of a brand new cast.
One comment in particular posed a very pertinent question, asking “Can’t wait for season 2 – just wondering if it will continue from Season 1 ending?” As things stand, it appears that the second season will not carry on from where the previous season has left off and that the entire plot has been reimagined.

That being said, season 2’s new characters seem to fit into the same archetypes as their season one counterparts: The emo/hipster schoolgirl, the overexcited, bubbly ball of energy, the artistic one, and the popular mean girls. So, it’s unclear whether or not the entire storyline has been reconceptualised from the ground up.
We cannot wait for AlRawabi School for Girls Season 2’s *official* trailer to finally drop! Stay tuned for more by keeping a close eye on Cosmo ME’s updates.
