The Modist, a luxury fashion retailer based in Dubai, has decided to close down after three years in operation due to the hit its taken from the coronavirus pandemic.

In a heartfelt message from founder Ghizlan Guenez posted on the brand’s Instagram page it says “that the global crises that has hit the world has left our young business vulnerable with no option but to cease operating.”

The post goes on to say, “Our mission had always been to be a brand with purpose, to create a positive impact and to bring a new genre of fashion that is fresh, inclusive and truly representative of the modest woman, and we believe that we succeeded in achieving that.”
