It’s giving culture meets cool, and honestly? We’re obsessed. Your sneaker game is about to get a serious glow-up.
This limited-edition drop is giving all the right energy by reworking two of adidas’ most iconic sneakers – the Samba OG and Handball Spezial and gave them a whole new vibe inspired by some of the most culturally rich spots in the region: Dubai, Riyadh, and Cairo. And yes, they’re just as pretty as they sound. Think pretty laces, embroidery, and details that actually mean something.
First Stop Dubai 🇦🇪
Adidas is kicking things off with a pop-up at the iconic Dream Girls Tailor in Al Fahidi on April 19–20. It’s a tailor shop that’s been around forever (like, 40+ years!) and now it’s the spot to shop the collection early, soak in the craftsmanship, and feel all the nostalgic vibes. The Dubai pair even features Talli-inspired laces – a traditional Emirati threadwork that’s all about shimmer and detail. Chic and meaningful? Yes, please.
Then comes Riyadh 🇸🇦
From April 21, head to Riyadh Park Mall, where you’ll find custom stations to personalise your sneakers with Sadu-style laces, nodding to that classic geometric Bedouin embroidery. It’s all inspired by the beautiful district of Diriyah and local weaving icon, Rashidah (who’s been doing her thing for 30 years – queen).
And don’t sleep on Cairo 🇪🇬
From April 24–30, the drop hits Maison 69 in Cairo, with sneaker styles paying homage to Khayamiya – that colourful, swirly applique you’ve seen in the historic markets. Even cooler? The laces were inspired by artist Mohsen Shaaban, who’s been keeping the tradition alive for over 50 years.
The whole thing was created with the help of Dr. Reem El Mutwalli from The Zay Initiative, to make sure every design actually means something—and you can totally feel it in the details.
