Maya Aboul Hosn has officially been appointed to represent the bride of the Middle East, Lebanon, in this year’s coveted Miss Universe competition – set to take place on November 18, 2023.
What does beauty mean to Maya Aboul Hosn?
In an interview with Arab News, the Lebanese bombshell shared her thoughts on the notion of beauty and what true beauty represents in her eyes. She expressed, “I believe there is no right or wrong. There’s no pretty or ugly. I want to inspire girls to always embrace their uniqueness. You are pretty just the way you are. You don’t have to be perfect.”
She also spoke about her commitment to using her beauty and brains as a means to raise awareness of causes that are near and dear to her heart, sharing, “Most people say that we only have beauty and not the brain. That is absolutely wrong. We are all educated, we all have plans for the future. That’s why we are here, to use our platforms for change and to spread awareness.”

Previously, the Lebanese radio and television personality was crowned first runner-up at the Miss Lebanon 2022 final, which took place in Beirut last July. This year, the beauty queen is determined to win the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, to be held at El Salvador on November 18, 2023.

Appreciative of her massive support system, the model took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her hometown. “With love and pride for my hometown, let’s shine on the global stage,” declares the bombshell.
Dazzling alongside her fellow Arab competitors Mohra Tantawy, AKA Miss Universe Egypt 2023, as well as Miss Universe Bahrain Lujaine Yacoub, Maya Aboul Hosn shall set the stage ablaze at this year’s international beauty competition.

Beauty queen Georgina Risk was the first woman in Lebanese history to take the Miss Universe crown back in 1971. Lebanese contestant Marcèlle Herro also famously ended up in the Top 12 in 1973.
