Hayati, you’re not ready. I’m not sure we are either, but the Huda Kattan just dropped a new Easy Bake powder (yay!), and it’s … green? (say whatt). Yes, you read that right, and yes, the internet is understandably losing its mind. Let’s catch you up on what you might’ve missed, diva!
Okay, so the powder’s matcha-inspired and therefore green (we’re not talking watered-down pigment either) – got that part. It’s now become the hot cousin of the baby-pink Easy Bake (a Cosmo favourite through and through). How are people using it, though? Well, let’s take a look, shall we:
To prime & colour correct
Makeup guru Trevor Barret has unlocked what we think might be the new drop’s biggest potential without it being too much. Step 1: Prime your face after your skincare has set in, focusing your powder application on any reddened areas. Step 2: Proceed with your routine as normal. Step 3: When it’s time to set your base, grab your powder puff (seemingly everyone’s preferred method) and lightly dab it on the back of your hand to remove any excess product, before resetting those same areas with your Matcha Milk Cake.
Something we’ve noticed? It looks best when melted into the skin with a setting spray
This might be a hot take, but look at Renna’s skin after that spritz of Easy Bake setting spray! It not only emphasised the brightness of her undereyes post-Matcha Milk Cake, but it also seamlessly blended the powder back into her base to make for the perfect finish. Might just be the moveee bestie.
A blush blindness SOS?
Didn’t realise you overblushed until it was too late? Dw, your internet big sis @aloonglow has got you. To prove just how beautifully muting the powder can be, Hanan doused her face in blush, and you know what? We’re kind of feeling it. What do you think?
It might give you the blur of your dreams on the go soon!
Are we getting ahead of ourselves? Maybe. Is a little delusion good for the soul sometimes? Also maybe. Actually, affirmative. Step aside, Rhode Lip Case – there’s (theoretically, in due time) a new girl in town, and her name is Pressed Powder Phone Grip. Easy Bake Pressed Powder Phone Grip. This is so us shooting our shot – Hi Huda! 😆
Yes, it’s actually shade inclusive 🤎
You can count on brown babe Dhivya Sri to represent at every opportunity. It was really important to Cosmo for us to see whether the new matcha girl in town lives up to the real test – showing up and showing out on everyone. We think it’s safe to say this is Cosmo-approved ✅.
The beauty community said they want something, and Huda listened. Would you try this?
