It’s pretty obvs that we’re *totally* obsessed with AlRawabi School for Girls and since Season 2 dropped on Netflix we’ve been bringing you as much juicy content as possible.
And in true Cosmo ME style we have been doing some digging – we’ve stalked the S2 cast to see what they were up to before filming, checked up on where the Season 1 cast are now and while we’ve been in detective mode we’ve uncovered that several cast members are related.
You’ll be DMing your group chat as you’d have never guessed these family bonds.
Hiba and Sarah are cousins IRL!
These two characters couldn’t be further from friends on-screen. Hiba (Kira Yaghnam) is part of the popular crowd while Sarah (Tara Abboud) is an outsider keen to be seen by the cool girls by finding social media fame. When Sarah gets the attention of Hiba’s bestie Tasneem (who befriends Sarah to take advantage of her) Hiba feels jealous of Sarah.
But off-screen the pair are related as they are cousins because their mums are sisters. How cute!
Layan and Omar are also cousins IRL!
Now, these two aren’t on the same series but they’re connected. Noor Taher, whose character Layan was shot by her brother in Season 1, is related to Mohammad Nizar who plays Omar in Season 2. Acting must be in the family as 23-year-old Mohammad and 24-year-old Noor are cousins.
Nouf’s mum is Hiba’s mum and Sarah’s aunty IRL!
Now we know this it seems pretty obvious (erm, same surnames) but with Dina’s character (Nouf’s mum) being a minor character in Season 1 you may have forgotten about her. She must have taught Kira everything she knows as she is her mum, and as we already mentioned Kira and Tara are cousins which means that Dina is her aunty.
