As a brand, Missguided has really stepped it up recently when it comes to representation. What with their promise to stop airbrushing stretch marks and their recent campaign with plus-size model Felicity Hayward encouraging us all to embrace our curves.
But if you thought they had stopped there, think again. The brand has continued its diversity mission by addressing the mannequins in their stores.

Not only are the new mannequins ethnically diverse, but they also have vitiligo, freckles and stretch marks… You know the features that the majority of us have, but are rarely represented.Â

Naturally the Internet was totally here for Missguided’s latest move and their were hand clapping emojis all round.

Would love to see one with acne, a range of heights, and a range of weights: Missguided introduces body-positive mannequins as part of its #makeyourmark campaign https://t.co/nqWLozdgjz

However some people did rightly point out that the one thing the new mannequins are lacking, is a range of body shapes.
Hooray-a brand that finally recognises that all woman have different ethnic backgrounds, body issues and flaws. Check out the @Missguided mannequins (Shame they haven't shown different shapes and sizes though!) https://t.co/THAJQSDdTx

But nonetheless it’s still a huge step in the right direction towards inclusivity and visible representation in the fashion industry. Plus getting rid of those old school creepy shop mannequins can only be a good thing right?
We have reached out to Missguided to see if they plan to expand the range of body shapes within their in store mannequins.
