But the humanist group’s very own members are celebrating their individual achievements in their own right. Just last week, Now United’s Nour Ardakani announced the release of her upcoming single, So Good.
Today, we’d like to honour Now United’s Mélanie Thomas. We’re celebrating the release fo her exquisite new single Misconception, which the artist recorded in collaboration with her Now United bandmate Lamar Morris.

From the first note of Misconception, listeners can already tell that Mélanie’s single is an ~exquisite~ bop. It’s giving Rihanna in her unapologetic boss queen era (which, of course, is all the time for both RiRi and Mélanie). Now United’s Mélanie embodies those same powerful traits of femininity, confidence, and fierceness, both vocally and choreographically, in the music video of Misconception.

But don’t take it from us, take it from the talented masterminds behind Misconception themselves: Mélanie and Lamar gave us some insight into the “conception of misconception” (see what they did there?), explaining how their project came to life in an exciting YouTube video.
Mélanie expressed that she’s “so grateful that we all get to have our own solo songs under our own names, which is super unusual we’ve never done that before.” In fact, the songstress explained that each of the members would be releasing their own singles shortly, which explains Nour Ardakani’s announcement of So Good‘s release. “Right after me, it’s Zane. I don’t know if you guys knew, but I’m telling you now,” shares Mélanie.
The gorgeous Now United songstress from the Ivory Coast proceeded to explain her artistic vision for Misconception’s music video. She spoke about the stylistic elements and powerful energy that she poured into her music video, explaining all the different scenes and outfits that it includes.

Lamar shared some words of encouragement with his Now United bandmate, sharing, “what I really enjoyed was watching you in your element and watching you, sort of, take over and just become Mélanie.” We absolutely adore this duo’s wholesome and supportive friendship, in Now United and beyond.
