Multimillionaire Kylie Jenner is the talk of the town, and not for great reasons right now. Stranger to none, the 23-year-old mother, model and reality-TV star has come under fire for a recent Instagram story she uploaded.
After Kylie’s makeup stylist Samuel Rauda met with a serious accident, a GoFundMe was created by his family to raise funds for a major surgery he required. The makeup artist was thrown from a moving vehicle, suffering internal bleeding and eight brain injuries after hitting his head on the pavement.
Kylie, albeit in good faith, took to Instagram to share a screenshot of the GoFundMe page and requested followers to “swipe up to visit his families go fund me.”
Kylie donated five thousand dollars (approx Dhs18,000) towards the goal of $120 thousand (approx Dhs440,000), but people took to Twitter to point out that it was a measly amount compared to her net worth of $900 million (approx Dhs3,305,000,000).
Her makeup artist apparently needs $60k. Kylie Jenner paying that would be like someone with $100k net worth sparing $6.72 to pay off a friend's medical bills.

Kylie Jenner, who makes $19K/hr asking for $$$ from her fans to help her make up artist pay for a $60,000 surgery, is an excellent example of why we need universal healthcare. Even billionaire employers like Kylie and Walmart aren’t willing to pay for their employees' healthcare.

So Kylie Jenner who apparently earns over $450k A DAY and is a billionaire shared the 60k gofundme of her friend who got in an accident for us poor people to donate to? Celebrities are a different breed.

Many took to social media to express their dismay and disapproval for Kylie’s actions.

I hope this Kylie Jenner situation makes it very clear that when the Kardashians act like they “donate behind the scenes” and “do good that we don’t see,” it’s simply not true. They don’t donate shit, I promise.

It’s not even about the fact that she won’t pay for the surgery herself. Every single last one of Kylie Jenner’s sisters is a millionaire. Her parents are millionaires. Her friends are millionaires. But she asked the MIDDLE CLASS for money. This family…… pic.twitter.com/zFqeeBvuY3

Other celebrities like Huda Kattan, Bella Thorne and Sofia Richie all made donations as well, with Huda donating the second largest donation overall of $10 thousand (approx Dhs36,000).
