Travis Scott’s highly anticipated, star-studded festival in Houston, Astroworld, has been canceled following a tragic incident that ensued on the opening night.

During the rapper’s performance, at least eight people were found dead and hundreds injured after an unruly crowd surge toward the stage commenced that sparked major panic and chaos amongst several concertgoers. People were boxed in, breathless, and fighting for their lives – an unforgettable experience in the worst way for those lucky enough to make it out. According to a Houston Police Chief, the show was stopped immediately when several injuries were made apparent.

Now, Travis Scott, Astroworld organizers, and even Kylie Jenner are under some *serious* fire from attendees, fans, and people that have taken to social media to share their experiences and opinions on the horrific and heart-breaking incident:

A number of statements have been posted to social media by Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner, Astroworld, and concert organizers, Live Nation, regarding the incident.

Kylie Jenner posted a statement to her Instagram story on Saturday evening stating how “broken and devastatedshe and Travis are. “My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in anyway by yesterday’s events. And also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston Community.”

Following outrage on Twitter slamming Kylie Jenner for a series of tone-deaf pics and vids on her Insta story, including a shot that includes an ambulance making its way through the concertgoers, she then goes on to clarify that they “weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing. I am sending my condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone who has been impacted.”

The official live streaming partner for Astroworld Festival, Apple Music, also took to Instagram to share a brief statement, writing that their “hearts go out to the victims who tragically lost their lives or were injured at Astroworld and their loved ones. We are devastated.”

On Saturday evening, Travis Scott also took to his Instagram story to address the situation further. Looking distressed as he rubs his head and eyes, he says “my fans really mean the world to me, and, I always just want to leave them with a positive experience”. He then goes on to state how devastated he is and how he “could just never understand the severity of the situation.” According to Scott, the necessary authorities are working closely to figure out what happened, and to identify the eight victims’ families to help them through this tough time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims, those injured, and those who lost loved ones during this devastating incident.
