Marking a monumental turning point in history, 23-year-old Khadija Omar has been named Miss Universe Somalia 2024, becoming the first hijabi woman to represent her country on the Miss Universe stage.
She will also be the first-ever Miss Universe Somalia to compete at this level, representing the country at the 73rd Miss Universe competition in Mexico this November.
Her journey to the title is an inspiring one, to say the least. Born in the Hagadera refugee camp in Kenya, Khadija emigrated to Canada in 2010, where she now currently resides. From refugee to international beauty pageant queen is a feat guaranteed to inspire generations to come.

Khadija is also a beauty and fashion influencer, model and social media marketing manager, and uses her platform to advocate for inclusivity.
With her historic journey to the Miss Universe stage, she hopes to celebrate diversity and empower women across the world. We’ll for sure be watching.
