The wait is ~almost~ over. After much anticipation, the regional adaptation of Netflix’s hit show, Love is Blind, is set to debut on October 10th. Love is Blind Habibi is the first dating reality show of its kind in the Middle East, with a focus on Arab singles from across the region taking part in the world’s most famous marriage social experiment.

Cosmo ME dropped a worldwide exclusive first-look at the official trailer for the show, and it did not disappoint. The long-awaited trailer answered everyone’s burning questions on how the regional adaption of the show’s format would work.

How is Love is Blind Habibi different from other series?

Love Is Blind Habibi has been thoughtfully fine-tuned to resonate with the cherished cultures and traditions of the region, all while exploring whether it’s possible to fall in love without first seeing one another.

But unlike the show’s traditional format, the couples will do not get engaged in the pods. The trailer reveals that, once the men are ready to propose, they must first get approval from the future-bride’s family. The couple will have to seek the parents’ blessing before getting engaged. TEA 👀.

Although we cannot confirm at this stage, it looks like the couples don’t jet off on their honeymoon in the show, as they do in other series around the world. From the trailer, it appears the entirety of the show is filmed in Dubai – which means we *might* not get to see our fave couples vaycay after the big “I do”.

What happens in Love is Blind Habibi?

The trailer also hints at a whole lot of drama in this first season, with the cast yelling phrases at each other like, “Why did you tell her?” and “I made a mistake”. OUCH.

And, of course, we get a glimpse of a wedding or two. In true Arab wedding fashion, they look *lavish*.

The series will be hosted by power couple, Elham Ali and her husband Khaled Saqer. Read all about them here.
