Cosmo ME brings you all the *hot* tea about Hierarchy with this exclusive interview.
Cosmo ME: Can you describe the show in three words?
Roh Jeong Ui: High-school teen, visuals and unique!
Lee Chae Min: Joy, love and growth *laughs in handsome.*

Cosmo ME: We want to know, what drew you guys to Hierarchy?
Kim Jae Won: Oh I’ll go! When I first read the script I thought it was totally different from other teen shows that we’ve seen, especially here in Korea. If you watch the show you’ll get to see a completely different side. We got to try out swimming, fencing, and also American football as well, things we don’t see much in Korea. And I get to be the King of the school “Ri An”! So I get to show you a lot of different sides and charms that I have.
Cosmo ME: We know you guys love your characters, but are there other characters that ended up being your favourite?
Ji Hye Won: I guess my favourite character would be… Woo Jin! He’s a very sweet and nice guy, but internally he’s actually a very deep and kind of fragile person as well. He was actually the kind of character I wanted to portray. I think a lot of the viewers would end up liking him!

Lee Won Jung: I would choose Ri An because he’s the wealthiest *laughs*. There’s a scene where he takes a Rolls-Royce to school, it’s a life I would like to try living. But! I would also choose Kang Ha because he’s such a passionate character and so full of energy. He does everything he thinks is right. So I would choose those two characters.
Cosmo ME: What did you guys do to prepare for your roles?
Lee Chae Min: Well, my character may seem playful and smiley, but internally he has a very shrewd personality. He is also a resilient and strong character, so I thought it was super important to portray that duality. I try to find ways to show that moment when a different side of the character comes into play to show two sides of Kang Ha.

Cosmo ME: You guys had a glow-up! What did you do before filming to achieve the character’s look and feel?
Kim Jae Won: Well for me, to keep the visual of Ri An, I try to get a good night’s sleep and of course eat well. As for the vibe, when I got the script (for Hierarchy), I thought since Ri An is a very charismatic character, I realised if I couldn’t portray that vibe, I wouldn’t be able to build that tension between myself and Kang Ha. In my past work (King the Land), where I usually played the “sweet guy”, I had to think long and hard to adjust my facial expressions to fit the charismatic and cynical side of Ri An.

Cosmo ME: What do you want the viewers to expect from the show?
Roh Jeong Ui: Hierarchy is a super fun show to watch! It’s going to be an immersive ride for you and we’re sure it’s going to be very entertaining that will satisfy your binge needs. So, please! Stay tuned and show some love for our show.
What is Hirearchy about?
At Jooshin High School, the air is thick with privilege and hidden agendas. This elite playground is ruled by school queen Jung Jae-i (Roh Jeong-eui) and her boyfriend, Kim Ri-an (Kim Jae-won), known as the king. Their reign is unchallenged until Kang Ha (Lee Chae-min), a scholarship student with a vendetta, transfers in. Driven by revenge, his presence begins to disrupt the intricate web of relationships at the top. Alongside them, Yoon He-ra (Chi Hae-won) and Lee Woo-jin (Lee Won-jeong) complete the circle of exclusive students who govern the school.
