Not long after announcing an ankle injury that happened during his ~controversial~ first performance at Coachella where he performed on the main stage alongside the likes of BLACKPINK, Rosalia, Bad Bunny, and many others, Frank Ocean has called it quits as he has decided to not come back for weekend 2 of the music festival.
As per the statement shared with Rolling Stone, a representative for the Blond singer said that a doctor advised him to not perform the coming weekend as to prevent his fractures and sprain — that is said to have occurred during his Coachella weekend 1 set — from getting worse.
“It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show, but I enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon,” said the singer whose last live performance was in 2017.

Frank was originally supposed to headline Coachella 2020 but couldn’t as the festival had been cancelled altogether because of COVID-19. UGH. His headlining performance this weekend is now replaced by the rock band Blink-182.

There was an elaborate production involving an ice rink and skaters who would surround him as he crooned to audiences. “Frank decided at the last minute that he no longer wanted it at all,” said Twitter site The Festive Owl. 😳
Additionally, as per TMZ, the musician allegedly had his big ankle injury days before he was supposed to perform on stage. It happened while he was rehearsing his set at Coachella.
Fans think this is why Frank Ocean dropped out of Coachella weekend 2
The backlash, obvi
The reaction to his Coachella set is gonna send frank ocean back into hibernation for at least ten years https://t.co/QwUTXQyjio

Performance anxiety?
frank ocean hasn’t headlined in years & at his last show he had such bad stage fright / performance anxiety that he didn’t even perform. i’m not even a big fan like that, but i know how big of a deal it is.
stop hating just bc you weren’t there.— Kat 𓍊☽𓋼𓍊 (@kittysostoned) April 17, 2023
The math is mathing…
so apparently Coachella had to deconstruct the approved stage, melt the entire ice rink and then set it up how Frank decided today with no warning. Which is what caused the hour-long delay. If the last minute changes weren’t made he wouldn’t have performed at all — https://t.co/f0pxQg9GDl

IDK…
I just wanted to hear that one potato song by Frank Ocean but I guess he dropped out from Weekend 2 from that well deserved bullying he got. Probably not even from peoples reaction — he decided it way beforehand

Interesting
Obviously there’s a reason Frank Ocean has never gone on tour. Dude just isn’t a performer as much as he’s an amazing musician and studio artist. These things don’t always go hand in hand.
