Cosmo ME: How did you react to the news of being cast onto ‘Wild Love’?
Brittan Byrd: I was really excited. I thought that meant just absolute craziness, chaos. We’re running around doing whatever we want. Everyone’s beautiful. We’re in a beautiful place. It just sounded wild, like it’s in the name for a reason. I just thought we were going to go crazy, especially me being from an island. I was like, this is right up my alley. I’m already a very adventurous, like, daring person, so I was super excited and ready for whatever they were going to throw at me.
Cosmo ME: How do you think your life has changed since being on Too Hot to Handle?
Brittan Byrd: My life has changed, I think for the better. I feel like I’ve made a lot of new friends from the series. I’ve just had a lot of new experiences, you know, everything is just so new. But one thing about me is I love being out of my comfort zone. So I’ve just been shocked sighted, you know, everything’s a little scary, even nervous, you know. But I think career wise this will be a really good change because it’s a lot more exposure than, you know, me just being on my little island doing modeling and living my best bikini life.

Cosmo ME: What’s your zodiac sign?
Brittan Byrd: I am a Virgo, a proud Virgo, and my moon is in Leo. So I got a little bit of a feisty fiery side. And my rising is in Libra.
Cosmo ME: What’s James’ zodiac sign?
Brittan Byrd: Aquarius.
Cosmo ME: Are you two compatible?
Brittan Byrd: I haven’t come across many aquariuses. They don’t normally enter my life. So I think that’s also why everything was so confusing to me at first. One thing about me, I love to blame astrology for my problems. I think it was an interesting mesh at first, but I think me and him actually have a very good flow. We’re both very emotional, but we’re both very closed off in other senses. So I think we understand each other on that kind of level.
C: What were your favourite moments from the show?
BB: Honestly, I love the workshops the most just because it was a way for all of us to kind of connect, be vulnerable and be open, and that alone is really hard to do on your own. So I think having everyone together and sharing that moment was probably my favorite relationship advice. Oh my gosh.

C: Any relationship advice you’d give after your experience on the show with Lana?
BB: Take responsibility for your actions, like understand what the effect of your actions have on other people. I think it’s good to be selfish in some ways, where you’re taking care of yourself, you’re respecting yourself, but you also don’t want to be selfish in the way that you treat others. And that’s something that I really learned from the retreat.
C: Who would you say was the funniest cast member?
BB: Yeah, I think everyone has such a different sense of humor. I think outwardly Seb is obviously hilarious. He’s a little class clown of the group. But I think subtly, Nigel is so funny. I actually didn’t know all of the things he was saying till I was watching the show yesterday and his confessionals had me dying. I think he’s the most subtly funny person of all of us.
C: All the girls were so close. Do you think that played a role in your whole experience?
BB: I’m definitely a girl’s girl, so I always support all of the women. But honestly, I think every one of us is so powerful and grounded on our own that I think we kind of ran the place. Don’t tell the boys I say that, but I think we kind of ran the whole retreat. I think everything would remain the same. I mean, obviously I’d like to be more.

C: If you could go back and re-live the experience again, would you do anything differently?
BB: Mindful of how I was treating James because I do have a lot of respect for him, but I think it was a lesson that was needed to be learned and on both of our behalves. So I don’t think I would change anything.
C: What is your number 1 bucket place to travel to?
BB: I’ve been a lot of places, but islands definitely have my heart. So I would say my bucket list place would be the Seychelles just because it is so far from where I live. It is almost like it really is a bucket list item. There’s no easy way for me to get there, but it is insane and they have such an insane reef system there. I would love to just immerse myself in my life there.
C: Have to ask this, but how’s your love life looking like now?
BB: So after we got home from filming, James and I, we were immersing back into our normal lives. And, you know, obviously regular day-to-day lives. We have stressors, we have friends, we have environment, work, everything. It was really difficult for us to, you know, mesh the retreat life and our retreat relationship back into real life. So for a while we were a little rocky. We remained friends along the way but. Now that we were back together, we both just moved to LA we’ve been dating. I wanted to say we’re officially together yet because he hasn’t officially asked me and I need that. But yeah, we’re in the dating dating zone right now.
