Love Island‘s Coco Lodge â€“ who entered the villa during Casa Amor and coupled up with Andrew Le Page before he recoupled with Tasha Ghouri â€“ has revealed she was supposed to be on Married at First Sight but turned down the chance to appear on the show.

Opening up to her fans on her YouTube channel, the former Islander said that she needed to work on her mental health before going on the E4 TV series, which sees strangers quite literally get married at first sight.

“Not at all,” she said when asked if she regretted not going on Married At First Sight. “I would still love to do it but I don’t regret not doing it. I was not in the headspace to do it.”

Coco continued: “I didn’t choose Love Island over it, I was just not in the right headspace to do Married at First Sight at the time. So I went to Thailand and focused on me, then I came back and got offered Love Island.”

As for whether she had any reservations about her time on Love Island, the 27-year-old admitted she wishes she had more of a choice over when she entered the villa. “I kind of regret going into Casa Amor,” she said. “Not that you get a choice, you don’t, and I kind of thought I’d be going in early when I first got the call back.”

Coco went on: “However, you know, when Casa Amor came up I was like ‘everything happens for a reason’.

“I haven’t done too badly but I feel like people initially just don’t like you, just because you’re in Casa Amor – even though you don’t get a choice and I’m not really the ‘steal your man’ kind of girl.

“That’s just where I got put so it’s what I had to do… that would probably be my only regret.”

Married At First Sight UK returns to E4 on Monday 29 August.
