Huge congratulations to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend on the exciting news that they are expecting their third child! Chrissy spilled the news on social media this week, sharing a video of her wearing high waist black leggings and a black blazer, showing off her baby bump. But it turns out, the pregnancy wasn’t exactly planned.

Chrissy had her breast implants removed back in June, and was open and honest with all of her followers about the procedure. “Was she pregnant when she had her surgery in June?” a follower asked, “I feel like with her bump she had to be pregnant before that, but I could be wrong. I’m confused”. Chrissy quote-retweeted with “Oh, it’s quite a story. lol”, and it really is!

“I did the routine pregnancy test you do before surgery. It said negative. It was negative”, she wrote on Twitter. “A few weeks after surgery, I took a test. And for many years now, I’ve taken pregnancy tests almost every month, praying to see a positive one day. Just wishful thinking. I never had a positive before. So the morning of John’s album release, he wakes up at 3 am to do Good Morning America. I woke up with him and was like man, should take my monthly test to be disappointed… I was not disappointed. But I was scared sh*tless.”

Chrissy went on to explain that she had her daughter Luna and her son Miles by using IVF, and she didn’t know it would be possible for her to get pregnant without the use of fertility treatments. Chrissy says that Luna is “very, very excited”, but “Miles, not so much”.

In relation to her surgery she added, “Was pretty positive you shouldn’t get your boobs out while pregnant? Pretty sure. So we prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay. Went to every appointment terrified. Even without the surgery, I didn’t think I could get pregnant naturally anyway. So the odds just felt… bad”. She added “but what they say so often can be true. When you give up on trying, life has a way of surprising you”. Thankfully, both Chrissy and the baby are doing well!

Chrissy told her fans that she has taken a monthly pregnancy test since she was 21, saying “Anyone who knows me knows I have taken a pregnancy test nearly every month since I was 21. I know it’s weird. I just always, always wanted to see a positive. This was the time!”. She also replied to a follower asking how many times she took a test to confirm the pregnancy, “I probably took 12 that morning”.

Chrissy and John sure know how to make a ridiculously cute kid, so we can only imagine that baby Legend number 3 will be just as gorgeous. Congrats guys!!
