Irish actor Nicola Coughlan, known for her role as Penelope Featherington in Netflix’s mega-hit series Bridgerton, has made a remarkable impact on humanitarian aid.

Over the past seven months, she has raised over $1.9 million for Gaza. Recently, she took the cause to IG, where she urged her audience to support a fundraiser like Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

Nicola has been actively engaging with her platforms, esp on IG, where she posted five fundraisers for human organizations operating in the Gaza Strip and encouraged her followers to extend their support.

Among her five campaigns, there were two for ActionAid UK and Medical Aid For Palestine, both of which have raised $116,741 in total. Nicola continues to use the power of social media in pushing support and advocates to help raise funds for the conflict at hand.

Her incredible fundraising efforts follow the recent public discourse around her ‘Artist for Ceasefire’ pin worn during her ‘Bridgerton’ press tour.

Coughlan said her family lived in Jerusalem in the late 1970s when her father served in the Irish Army and he was part of an organization that supported efforts to broker peace in the Middle East. “It’s very important for me because I feel like I’m a very privileged person”, she said. I’m doing my dream job and I’m getting to travel the world, but then I’m hyper-aware of what’s happening in Rafah at the moment”.

Her fundraiser follows in the heels of other mega-celeb donations, like Bella and Gigi Hadid and The Weekend. Read more here.
