The tragic death of Kobe Bryant,41, and his daughter, Gianna, 13, shook the entire world. The NBA star died in a helicopter crash last month and the world is still in mourning. Kobe and Gigi have since been buried in a private ceremony with his family and some of his closest friends.

Last night, Kobe's family, his friends and fans gathered at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles to pay respects to him and Gigi and it was an emotional evening for everyone. Jimmy Kimmell, Shaq O'neal and Micheal Jordan were amongst those that spoke about what an icon and brother Kobe was, but the most emotional part of the evening was Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's wife's, eulogy. Her speech left the entire room in tears and it was truly hard to watch.

"God knew they couldn't be on this Earth without each other. He had to bring them home to heaven together," Vanessa said.

Alicia Keys honoured Kobe with a powerful performance of  Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, while Beyonce celebrated the superstar athletes life with a powerful rendition of her song, XO. She said, "I'm here because I love Kobe and this was one of his favourite songs, so lets all sing it together so he can feel all the love".

Rest well Mamba...
