Bella Hadid has always been open and honest about her mental health, especially recently. The Palestinian-Dutch supermodel revealed in a Victoria’s Secret podcast called VS Voices that she’s previously been in abusive relationships.

“I constantly went back to men – and also, women – that had abused me and that’s where the people-pleasing came in,” Bella confessed. The 25-year-old explained that she would settle, “not having boundaries, not only physically but also emotionally,” and began to “be a people-pleaser with my job.”

Bella Hadid also added, “I always felt like my voice was never heard growing up. I grew up around men – whether that was in relationships or family or whatever that was – where I was constantly told that my voice was less important than their voice.”

“Then moving into relationships growing up, and not having the boundaries of being able to stick up for myself and have my voice being heard, affected me in my adult relationships very intensely,” she continued. “My nervous system would crash. It was fight or flight.”

Bella Hadid has previously dated The Weeknd, and is currently dating director Marc Kalman. The model also discussed her breaks from social media saying that it’s “a cliché for a reason because it’s a fact that it works.” Not too long ago, she also admitted that she’s stopped drinking as it brought her a lot of “pain and stress.”

Bellz tackled this by becoming an entrepreneur, joining a business venture with Saudi-raised Jen Batchelor. Kin Euphorics is a tonic and wellness drink brand which replaces alcohol and instead has helped her with her anxiety and depression.
