As she has just hit the 100 million followers landmark, few things are (probably) as important to Kim Kardashian as an Instagram post. And to celebrate Cher’s 71st birthday, the mother-of-two posted not one or two photos of the Believe singer – as she would typically do for one of her family members as a birthday trib – but a staggering 18 photos. 

And fans were pretty confused. 

“Please stop posting her photos, really annoying,” one wrote. “Um, why are you doing this? Lol,” said another. But most of them were just happy to celebrate with Kim, with one saying, “What a nice tribute to Cher”. 

So, why did she do it? Well, she captioned the first photo in her Cher retrospective with “Happy Birthday to my fashion icon Armenian Queen Cher!” – both Kim and Cher’s fathers were Armenian-American, so that is probably part of the reason. You also can’t deny the similairty between Kim and a young Cher in some of these snaps.
