Long before Hermione Granger ended up with her BFF Ron Weasley, Hogwarts’s most brilliant witch caught the eye of Durmstrang’s Viktor Krum during the Triwizard Tournament. While his romance with Hermione was short-lived, Krum was easily one of the most memorable characters from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire — and the actor who played him is now very grown up.

First pointed out by Buzzfeed, Stan Yanevski is essentially unrecognisable compared with the character he played in 2005: He’s grown his hair out, gotten some tattoos, and just generally looks like a completely different person.

For comparison, here’s what he looked like before.

… And again, here’s what he looks like now.

Once more, here he is in 2005.

… And here he is 2016.

Ten years truly makes a world of difference for a wizard, but at least Yanevski makes it clear that he still remembers his roots.
