If you guys haven’t heard of the teen sitcom Lizzie McGuire, then you missed out on a masterpiece during your childhood days. Lizzie McGuire was a huge mess, except in a good way, and I’m sure we were all left with a huge void when the show ended in 2004.

But we have some good news for you as Hilary Duff just announced that Lizzie McGuire will be returning to our screens…this time as a 30-year-old woman working in Manhattan! If this doesn’t make your adulthood dreams come true, we don’t know what will.

The 31-year-old actress revealed the exciting news at the Disney D23 Expo, and also took to her Instagram to gush about how she can’t contain her excitement. She wrote: “SURPRISE!!! I’ve been trying to contain this excitement for a loooong time while this has been in the works! I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl…and into her 30’s #bringbackbutterflyclips”

Another good news is that the original creator of the series, Terri Minsky, will still be directing the series and we can expect Lizzie McGuire to drop in 2020 on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

This might be a good reason for you to look into signing up for Disney’s equivalent to Netflix, that will launch in the US on November 12 of this year.

Anyways, while the cast for 2020’s Lizzie McGuire is not yet confirmed, we are hoping and praying that Gordo makes a comeback. Adam Lamberg, who played Lizzie’s curly-haired love interest has been away from the showbiz scene since the show ended in 2004, but he was settled in New York the last time we heard from him.

So, if he’s already in NY, then maybe we can expect him to join the cast? *cross fingers* Ugh, can we fast-forward to 2020 already?
