It’s time to level up your content creator game cause YouTube is on the lookout to help you build your platform online.
The creator monetization initiative YouTube Shorts Fund has set sail in the Middle East, with the countries – Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Algeria, Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Morocco. If your country is not mentioned, don’t worry, YouTube will be adding more countries to the mix within the coming months.
Starting from 5 December, the social media platform will incentivise creators and artists for making Shorts, short-form video content, for their contributions. YouTube’s Shorts Creator Fund helps creators with a wide array of monetary assistance.
From advertising to Paid Digital Goods, merchandise branded content, and more, to give you that lil push in achieving your *dream job*.
The Middle Eastern community of content creators is on the rise and YouTube is recognizing their efforts on their platform. For instance, the percentage of YouTube channels making 6 figures or more in revenue in the UAE and Saudi Arabia is 40% and 20% year over year, respectively.
“Since rolling out Shorts in the Middle East and North Africa earlier this year, we’ve seen great growth in viewership and creation,” said Tarek Amin, Director of YouTube in the Middle East and North Africa. “The Shorts Fund was the logical next step as we build our long-term monetization plan for Shorts,”
“YouTube has helped an entire generation of creators and artists turn their creativity into businesses, and in MENA the number of creators earning five and six figures from YouTube continues to grow year on year. The Fund is yet another tool in YouTube’s storytelling toolbox.”
