If there is one person we’re talking beauty advice from this winter, it’s Farhana Bodi. For Cosmo ME‘s first-ever digital cover, we chatted with the fashion and beauty influencers about all things skincare, from skincare with *actual* gold in it, to ultimate beauty inspirations…
Cosmo: How did you get into the beauty industry?
Farhana Bodi: As a young girl I always enjoyed playing around with my mums make-up and beauty products, and when I turned 16 I knew I was meant to be in this industry. I have a diploma in make-up artistry, and I actually started as a MUA in 2002. I worked with a well-known make-up brand in South Africa before venturing out into the beauty world in London, and then eventually to Dubai!
Cosmo: Who is your beauty icon?
FB: I love Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Kylie Jenner and Huda Beauty. I love the brands they have created, they always inspire me to create more fun bold make up looks.
Cosmo: And what about your currect favourite products?
FB: Earlier this year I received a beauty hamper from a brand called Christian Laurent, and I fell in love with the products. I posted a TikTok video using their face mask and it went viral.

Cosmo: What are some must-try products from the brand?
FB: All the ingredients are so luxurious, but it’s so super afforable. I feel like we’ve been missing this kind of skincare brand in the market. From the Diamond collection I love the Superconcentrated Tightening Serum, the Rejuvenating Diamond Cream, and the 24K Gold Micellar water. These products have my skin glowing and feeling *extra* radiant. The micellar water is especially great for removing your makeup in no-time, too.
Cosmo: Why do you think Cosmo readers would love Christian Laurent?
FB: It’s boujee skincare but on a budget! Who wouldn’t love that?

Cosmo: Tell us about your daily skincare routine?
FB: I always start with washing my face with a cleanser followed by a serum, eye cream, moisturizer and a good primer before applying any make-up.
Cosmo: What does the word ‘beauty’ mean to you?
FB: Being the best possible version of yourself – inside and out.
Cosmo: What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
FB: There have been so many but definitely walking the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, being the first Indian face to be on the cover of an international publication in Saudi, and opening a runway show during London Fashion Week.
Cosmo: Where do you get your beauty inspiration from?
FB: Definitely my mum – she has amazing skin and hair. She’s always been a natural beauty.
Cosmo: What advice to you have to young girls looking to follow in your footsteps?
FB: To never stop believing in your dreams. Manifest everything that you want in your life and never stop chasing your goals. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
