First off, let's make it clear that acne is one of the most natural things to occur to your skin. Whether it be teen acne, or adult acne, spots, pimples, blackheads, and all around blemishes on your skin are completely normal. But I'm sure that we can all agree, they're ~super~ annoying as well. One day your skin will be clearing up and feeling fresh, and next thing you know a blemish will show up to completely kill the vibe. We've all been there.

I have combination skin that can often get textured depending on what I eat, what products I use or what weather I'm in - so I'm no stranger to a little acne myself here and there. Everyone breaks out, and that's fine, but for those of us who have the bad habit of picking and playing with pimples, it's disastrous. (I'm guilty of doing this). Personally, this method of dealing with my breakouts usually leads to acne scars, and more breakouts *insert upside down smiley face.*

A skincare product that I've picked up on over the years through my skin journey is using small quantities of tea tree oil on my spots. Tea tree oil can help treat and prevent spots as it's a natural remedy and has antiseptic qualities. However, take note that you should never use tea tree oil on pimples that have already broken (or are bleeding) on your skin - it may inflame your skin more.

Here are some of the tea tree oils I swear by:

If you want to get fun with your skincare, then blemish patches are a cute lewk as well! These patchology ones include tea tree oil AND salicylic acid for treatment.
