But this year’s Pink Moon is actually quite unique since it will also be a micromoon. According to the local scientist, Khadijah Hasan Ahmed from the Dubai Astronomy Group, “The Pink Moon is also a micromoon. We call it a micromoon when the moon is near its apogee, which is the farthest point from Earth, making it appear slightly smaller and dimmer—a subtle phenomenon that adds to its charm.”
