Netflix’s latest reality TV series IRL: In Real Love explores the difficulties of relationships in the modern world, offline, and online. This Indian reality TV series starts with four contestants Chiragg Khatri, Ananya S Rao, Rohan Arora, and Sakshi Gupta, who meet many connections before finding ‘the one’ who they walk out of the show with.
IRL: In Real Love is guided by hosts Rannvijay Singha and Gauahar Khan, and we’ve recently caught up with one of the show’s favourites: Ananya S Rao.

Cosmo ME: Traditional Indian values don’t always encourage dating – have you faced any backlash since the show aired?
Ananya S Rao: For me, I think it’s been easy. I guess my family just wants me to find the one.
C: How is your relationship with Dhruv different off-screen? Can you tell us more about it?
ASR: My relationship with Dhruv on-screen and off-screen has been the same, I think because we are literally like two monkeys on a tree, we bounce off each other’s energy. I think that’s what keeps the relationship playful.

C: Who has remained to be your closest friend post the show?
ASR: My closest friends post-show are Sakshi, Rohan, and Chiragg, for sure. We’re like the Fantastic Four.
C: How has being on In Real Love changed your approach to love?
ASR: Now I know to just go for it in my love life.
C: What’s one thing you wish you knew before going on In Real Love?
ASR: One thing I was so sure about before was I could never fall in love. But I guess I was wrong. Love happens, and I think you should let it.

C: One thing you wish more people knew about Dhruv?
ASR: He may come off as a very cool dude with lots of tattoos, who’s strong. But, inside he’s actually a little teddy bear. I think only the lucky ones get to see that.
C: Who from the show do you think should have ended up together?
ASR: Sahib and Vidushi would have made an amazing couple. They looked so good together, the way they looked into each other’s eyes. It was a treat to watch.
