A television show all about your favourite magazine – Cosmo, of course! – is coming to screens everywhere this summer!

The Bold Type, a show inspired by the magazine world and Cosmopolitan’s former editor, Joanna Coles, has just been given the go ahead by Freeform, the TV channel behind Pretty Little Liars.

According to Variety, “The Bold Type stars Melora Hardin and Katie Stevens, and follows the outrageous lives and loves of those responsible for a global women’s magazine.” And we CANNOT wait for you all to have an insight.

Melora Hardin has previously starred in a host of TV shows and movies, including The Office and 27 Dresses, while you’ll probably know Katie Stevens from Faking It.

Variety goes on to add, “[The team’s] struggles are about finding your identity, managing friendships and getting your heart broken, all while wearing the perfect jeans to flatter any body type. While the show is heavily inspired by Coles’ experiences, the series won’t directly name Cosmopolitan and instead centers around a fictional publication, Scarlet Magazine.”

The Bold Type is our love letter to modern feminism and aims to be a destination for authentic female friendship and empowerment,” Karey Burke, executive vice president of programming and development at Freeform, told the magazine.

Hands up who will be watching The Bold Type? Yep, we thought so!
