If you thought the two Love is Blind Habibi members had split up, you were wrong. Just recently, rumours started to circulate that the happy couple weren’t happy anymore.
They stopped posting together and when fans saw Dounia ditch her Dhs40,000 engagement ring, they assumed the engagement was off. But now the couple confirmed that they are in fact still together. Well, this teaches us that sometimes rumours are just that: rumours.
After both Dounia and Chafic told their fans that they were not yet ready to talk about the topic (in response to the thousands of questions they received regarding the rumours), they started posting couple content again. Both also explained what happened on their Instagram stories, which definitely clarified their relationship status for fans.
Chafic posted a story saying that they never broke up, they just took a break because “sometimes everything is just too much”. But the break was apparently exactly what the couple needed because, as he said, they are now back together and stronger than ever.
Dounia sat down to explain everything that happened over the last few weeks. “We had a very, very big fight where we had to take a break and that is totally, totally fine and normal,” she said in her Snapchat story. She challenged her fans to name a couple who hadn’t gone through something like that.
She added that there isn’t a couple in the world that hasn’t gone through this at least once and that some fights just go away, but some are bigger and you need time apart to think about everything. They needed to keep their distance and they needed to talk about it and now they are working through it.
Another thing that Dounia needed to get off her chest is that she is angry with those who spread rumours, and she is angry with the fans who accused them of being fake. They are focusing on their relationship, and building a relationship towards marriage is hard but they’re working on it.
“I’m not going to tell you that these comments don’t affect me. I’m a human being, they do,” Dounia added. She said she will eventually forget the comments because life goes on, but people should remember that when they send those comments, they need to think about the impact their words have. She says it will come back to haunt them one day.
But we’re glad to see that they can already laugh about the hard times they had to go through and enjoy their time back together. Dounia posted a video of the two of them having a BBQ in the desert, saying: “Fixing our arguments with barbecue date”.
