1. Oman
This is the easiest place to go for a quick getaway. And the best part is, there’s no need to get on a plane. You can go by bus from Dubai (public transportation by the RTA) or drive your car. It takes about six hours to get to Muscat via car. The long hours will be worthy it once you enter this country full of ancient culture, beautiful landscapes, unique Arabian architecture and so much more. This nation is blessed with contrasts. From dry desert sands to breathe taking oasis, you will definitely get an all rounded adventurous trip. While there, don’t for get to check out the crystal clear beaches.
2. Georgia
This is one of my favourite escape destinations. It’s cheap, three hours away from Dubai and if you are a UAE resident, you don’t need a visa. How awesome is that?! Experience outstanding historical landmarks, incredibly delicious cuisine and not to mention warm welcoming locals. The towns have a charming vibe and the weather is absolutely amazing (especially over the summer). If you ever want to escape the heat, book a ticket to Georgia and you won’t be disappointed.
3. India
India is probably one the cheapest countries to visit worldwide. Explore a world full of colours and bursting flavours in this beautiful destination. The people are generally warm and the culture will leave you eager to learn more. With India being fairly big, the country offers tons of options when it comes to activities you can engage in and places you can visit.
4. Azerbaijan
This one of the countries I’ve added to my bucket list and you probably should too. Often known as the ‘Land of fire’, this nation offers a fascinating blend of historical and modern architecture. It is located close to Georgia and you can travel to both countries in one trip. I can’t wait to explore the breath taking scenery and enjoy the amazing weather. FYI, you can ski during the winter.
5. Turkey
I love Turkish food and I would love to try authentic cuisine from the motherland. This country can either be expensive or cheap dependent on where you go and what you choose to do. So be smart about your spending. Here, you can explore the amazing architecture, covered markets, Istanbul’s mosques, souqs and if you are lucky, hop on a hot air balloon in Cappadocia.
Let the adventure begin!
