The Coldplay tour is about to kick off its eagerly anticipated Abu Dhabi leg.
Tickets have been secured (after basically waiting in a queue with the rest of the UAE), the energy is electric in the group chat and your outfit has passed the vibe check.
Now all that’s left is to figure out how you’re actually going to get there. With all the news about the concert logistics being trickled out this week, we’ve gathered all the travel info and put it in one place for you.
Unfortunately, there will not be any parking at Zayed Sports City Stadium or surrounding roads so you will need to plan your route ahead.
Travel by bus
The good news is that ticket holders will have access to a *free* park-and-ride shuttle bus service from Dubai every day of the show.
From Dubai
Buses from Expo City Dubai will run from 12:50pm and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Return buses will also be available from the same place but note that Dubai Metro will be closed if you’re planning on using that to get home at night.
Timings: The first bus is at 12:50pm, last outgoing bus is 6pm and last return bus is 1am.
Travel duration: 1h30mins
Price: free, but reserve tickets online.
From Abu Dhabi
If you’re already in Abu Dhabi, you’ll also have access to another shuttle bus which departs from Al Shahama, Sas Al Nakhl, Al Raha and Nation Towers from 1.57pm.
Price: free, but reserve tickets online if travelling from Al Shahama.
Travel by taxi
If buses aren’t your thing, then taxis could be an option for you. Make sure you plan ahead to see which rides will be available.
Careem
Careem Rides has launched a Concert Ride option which will cost Dhs650 to have a car for 8 hours. Don’t worry about parking, waiting or missing a bus with this option, allowing you to travel door to door with comfort and ease.
You can also book a normal ride and use promo code COLD25 for 25% off two rides.
Uber
Uber allows you to reserve your ride in advance, which is ideal on a busy night where convenience is key.
Travel by Chauffeur Service
Wheely
Wheely allows you to travel in style with their exclusive Chauffeur For a Day service, exclusive for members only. Just book your ride from the app and Wheely will take care of the rest for you. Sing till you lose your voice without worrying how you’ll get home with your Wheely driver waiting right outside for you. Experience comfort and style with the luxe cars available.
Live Nation Middle East has announced that if you’re taking a taxi or a private car, follow road signs for “Pick up and drop off” and then walk towards the stadium. On the way back, follow the same signs to find your driver.
