We’re all guilty of it. Whether it’s a celebrity, a stranger or even a ‘friend’, sometimes it’s impossible to resist the urge to screenshot their Instagram stories.
It could be to simply help you track down their jumper so you can secretly copy, or more than likely it’s because you need to discuss it with your bestie.

But you need to watch your back, as Instagram has started telling people when someone takes a sneaky snap of their latest post. We know, right?!
In the new trial, the account holder will see a camera shutter icon flash up alongside the culprit when checking a list of who has viewed their story. Eek.
According to TechCrunch, the feature is only in the test stage at the moment and those taking part are receiving a warning before clicking the button.

A message will pop up saying: “Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see.”
That won’t be at all awkward then…
Unsurprisingly, not everyone is impressed with the new feature, which could be rolled out if Instagram believe it has an effect on user engagement: “Good bye freedom to screenshot IG stories. Thank you, Instagram for the warning,” tweeted one distressed Instagrammer.
Instagram told TechCrunch: “We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you.”
You have been warned.
