If you’re a Conspiracy Theorist and believe the end is near… well here’s some good news for you!
Astronomers have found at least seven Earth-like planets orbiting a star. The bad news is that they’re about 40 light years away (which translates into more than several million years!) That’s a bit far.
What’s really cool though, is that the planets are all similar in size to Earth and could have water on their surface – which means they could have life! Hello E.T.!
The seven exoplanets were all found in tight formation around an ultracool dwarf star called TRAPPIST-1.
“This is the most exciting result I have seen in the 14 years of Spitzer operations,” said Sean Carey, manager of NASA’s Spitzer Science Center at Caltech/IPAC in Pasadena, California.
NASA thinks TRAPPIST-1f  is the best bet for supporting life. We can’t wait to hear more!
