Original supermodel Christie Brinkley has proved that age really is just a number by appearing on the cover of Sports Illustrated‘s annual Swimsuit Issue.

“Thank you Sports Illustrated for sending the powerful message that good things come in packages of every size and we do not come with an expiration date!” she spilled on Instagram.Â
Shooting to fame in the 1970s after appearing in Sports Illustrated, the blonde beauty went on to become an actress and TV star. After marrying singer Billy Joel, Christie continued to model appearing on the cover of Playboy and Men’s Health, and was on Sport’s Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue cover three years in a row, in 1979, 1980 and 1981.

Of her latest covergirl role, Christie spilled, “When I turned 30, I was like, ‘This is the last time I’m posing in a bathing suit!'” Adding, “When this issue comes out, I’ll be 63. I thought, ‘those days are over’. But to get to do it with my girls, I thought, ‘one last go!'”
As the old saying goes ‘If you’ve got it, flaunt it ‘ – and if we looked anything like Christie does in her latest cover shoot, we’d wear a swimsuit all day, every day!
