Selena has been chilling under the radar since she entered and completed her mental health treatment program last year, but she’s ready to get back to business. Earlier this month, Selena broke her social media silence and updated her followers, telling them she has a few exciting projects coming up in 2019. Among her Puma and Coach partnerships, Selena is coming out with a new song in two! short! days!
According to singer Julia Michaels, her next EP, Inner Monologue Part I, will feature a song with Sel herself. Julia shared the tracklist on her Instagram, and Selena will be on the first song, which is called “Anxiety.”
Julia didn’t share any lyrics, but Selena has been open about her anxiety in the past, so it could be about her personal experience. Back in February 2018, Selena reportedly completed a treatment program for anxiety and depression. She once told Vogue she had panic attacks while on tour and it was “a really lonely place.” She also said, “Basically I felt I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t capable.”
Even though Selena is back to making music, you’ll probably want to hold off on getting super excited about her posting a ton of photos on Instagram. According to a source who is supposedly close to her, she’s going to continue to keep everything on the DL because “she is more aware of how social takes a toll on her mental health.”
In the meantime, let’s all dance to “Taki Taki” some more!
