We’re nearing close to The Little Mermaid‘s film release and we’re already ~beyond~ excited. The highly anticipated live-action remake is bringing to life Disney’s 1989 animated classic, The Little Mermaid. The story remains the same tale of a lovestruck mermaid named Ariel who falls for a human prince, causing all sorts of trouble with the evil sea witch, Ursula.
Ariel will be played by Halle Bailey, while Jonah Hauer-King takes on the role of Prince Eric. And who could forget about Melissa McCarthy who will be the devilishly wicked Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay voicing Flounder, and Daveed Diggs voicing Sebastian. It’s a star-studded cast, to say the least.

This is our first official look at Melissa McCarthy as iconic villain Ursula, and at the end of the teaser, we even get Ursula’s signature cackle is heard as we get a quick glimpse at her eyes from behind her tentacles.
The live-action is scheduled to hit theaters on May 26th.
