Egyptian actress Ragaa El-Gedaway has passed away due to Covid-19 complications

Ragaa El-Gedaway, aged 82, died today from health complications related to Covid-19. The Egyptian actress had been in isolation for 43 days in Abu Khalifa Hospital in Ismaileya, Egypt, according to her daughter, Amira Hasan Mokhtar, in a post shared on Facebook.

Ragaa has been using a ventilator machine in intensive care after a drop in her health. The actress had reportedly been through three PCR tests since she's been isolated in the hospital on 24th May. 

Born on 6 September 1938 in Ismaileya Governorate, Rajaa is the niece of the actress Tahayah Karioca, who later embodied her role in the "Cinderella" series, directed by Samir Seif. She received her primary education at the Franciscan schools in Cairo, before working in the translation department of an advertising company. She then moved onto modelling, after been crowned Miss Egypt in 1958.
