Just like Kanye, I have a betrayal list. At the very top of my list, in bold, bubblegum-coloured letters is pinkwashing. I’ve seen enough performative pink ribbon campaigns in the past few weeks to last me several lifetimes. Enough is enough.
I’m vocal on social media about my experience with breast cancer. I’ve built a following of women who are walking through their own healing journeys or searching for meaning through mine. I believe in leading by example and that true leadership is always rooted in pure intention.

Intention guides every decision I make, especially when it comes to who and what brands I align myself with. I’ve made it a priority to live as consciously and cruelty-free as I can. Last year, after learning I was in remission, I celebrated by buying myself a heart-shaped lab diamond necklace from Etika Jewels.
For a bit of context, I love a good sparkle. Whether it’s in my eyeshadow, the bedazzled denim jackets my daughter and I recently picked up from The Dubai Mall, or in my jewelry box, I can’t resist a good shimmer.
After purchasing my necklace, I went on to buy another piece of jewelry from Etika for my collection. I got to know the owner, and it turned out we share values around conscious living, heart-filled purpose, and mindful creation.

When the idea of designing a ring around the concept of breast cancer came up, I noticed right away that it felt less like a collaboration and more like a continuation of my healing story. I already knew I would design something that sparkles on the outside, but symbolises something much deeper within.
The Heart of Hope Lauren diamond pinky ring is a half carat heart-shaped lab diamond (F Colour, VS Clarity) ring set in 18 karat gold with a ribbon engraving inside the band. I loved the concept of the pinky ring from the start.
It’s a fun play on the “pink” theme of breast cancer. Pinky rings symbolise self-celebration, stepping into one’s truth, and has a streak of rebellion. I love that. What’s more brazen and bold in the breast cancer journey than saying, “This is my story and I define my power”?

It’s not just a piece of beautiful, soulful jewelry, it’s also infused with purpose. A private donation is being made to Al Jalila to support breast cancer treatment.
Breast cancer doesn’t end when active treatments end. There are years of rebuilding and reflection that follow a pink warrior, along with countless follow-up visits and often hormone therapy.
Just like her ongoing journey, this ring is a beautiful tribute to the courage and resilience of the woman who leads a Heart of Hope.
