It’s time to lace up, runners! Registration is officially open for the 23rd staging of the Dubai Marathon, happening on January 7, 2024. With races over 4km, 10km and the classic 42.195km Marathon distance, this is the region’s first big marathon of the new year. Whatever your ability, running needs nothing but you.
Registration for all three races can be done online only at dubaimarathon.org, where youâll also be able to check out the three different race route maps and course videos.
Dubai Marathon 2024: What to expect
Sanctioned by the Dubai Sports Council, the 2024 Dubai Marathon is the first and oldest international marathon in the Middle East, with three races â the 4km fun run, the 10km road race and the classic 42.195km marathon distance. There will also be a wheelchair marathon featuring some of the most powerful athletes in the sport.
Returning home for its 23rd edition, this is a rare chance to see the best of the city’s landmarks like never before! Runners registering for the 2024 edition will start and finish on the Umm Suqeim Road close to the Dubai Police Academy, with the 42.195km distance taking in Jumeirah Beach Road and passing in the shadows of the iconic Burj Al Arab and Madinat properties.
The 2024 Dubai Marathon will be seen by top athletes, rising stars and debutants as the perfect opportunity to record an Olympic qualifying time just over six months prior to the staging of the Summer Olympics in Paris. Men and women have until April 30, 2024, to qualify for their countries and achieve the standard set by the Olympic Committee and by their national federation to compete in the marathon at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

As well as the race itself, UAE residents and UAE driving licence holders can also look forward to more than their own personal victories, with the chance to win a brand new EXEED RX, adding to the eventâs excitement. (T&Cs apply)
The ruby red SUV will go to the winner of a draw open only to runners registered to take part in either the 4km Fun Run, the 10km Road Race or the classic 42.195km Dubai Marathon itself.
âThe chance to win a new car is a fantastic opportunity for those eligible runners taking part in the first big city marathon of 2024,â said Race Director Peter Connerton.
He added: âItâs a chance for someone to take home more than just a medal, no matter where they finish in the race of their choice.â
