There are 14 holidays that we can rejoice for. The first holiday is that of the New Year.
Eid al-Fitr is to fall on April 20th,21st,22nd, and 23rd. Eid al Fitr marks the start of the Islamic month Shawwal and it also includes the first day after the long month of fasting. It is a 4-day weekend.
Arafat Day is the second day of the week of the Hajj pilgrimage. Arafat day is expected to be on June 27th.
Eid al Adha is right after Arafat Day. It is known as an important day in the Muslim calendar and it is to fall on June 28th, 29th, and 30th.
This technically means that there could be 4 consecutive public holidays from June 27th to June 30th.
Confirmed dates for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha will be announced related to moon sightings, but it wouldn’t hurt to still plan in advance 🤷.
Islamic New Year is set to be on July 19th which falls on the first day of the month Muharram.
Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday is a public holiday on the 27th of September.
Commemoration Day falls on December 1st.
National Day on December 2nd and 3rd.
And that brings us to the end of the holidays in 2023 😭.
